and the moons layin' low in the sky

today dexter blew up.

well, not literally,
to be more precise:

today during a routine drive to work, dexter made a strange popping noise, and then proceeded to produce relentless and continuously multiplying cloud upon cloud of smoke. so thick that the cars behind him pulled into the next lane to avoid suffocation....

so basically, he blew up.

and after being carefully pulled over to the side of the road, hazards flashing (thanks to Jasmine).
the tow-truck was called.

and after being transported gently to our driveway, where he sat unconscious and in unresponsive for the day,
father found metal filings in his oil.

alas, it appears dexter's engine has succumbed to an untimely demise:
quite peacefully and without much warning,
the causes unknown and undiagnosed.

and my heart is breaking a little bit.

eventually me and the father will begin efforts to reconstruct the engine.
for the moment,
we are still suffering from shock.

forcing everything metal to shine,
and the sidewalk holds diamonds, like a jewelery store case...
they argue, walk this way.
no walk this way

and laura's asleep in my bed
as i'm leaving she wakes up and says,
i dreamed you were carried away on the crest of a wave
baby don't go away
come here.
